Acceptable Use Policy
The rules for working with F3 Cloud services: prohibited actions, the use of resources and traffic, mail and anti-spam, incident response and sanctions.
What this policy is for
This Acceptable Use Policy (hereinafter the Policy) sets the rules for working with the services provided by F3 Cloud (hereinafter the Company). The Policy is binding on all customers and is meant to keep the infrastructure lawful, secure and stable. By using the services of the Company, the Customer confirms that they agree to this Policy.
1. General provisions
- The Customer must use the services responsibly, without infringing the rights and interests of other users and without creating a threat to the stability and security of the platform.
- The Customer must comply with the applicable laws, regulations and international standards.
- The Customer is solely responsible for protecting their own data, accounts and software, including applying current updates and proper information security measures.
- If security incidents or suspicious activity are found, the Customer must notify the support team of the Company without delay.
2. Prohibited actions
- Using the services for purposes that are contrary to the law and to the terms of service of the Company.
- Carrying out DDoS attacks, port scanning, password guessing, exploiting vulnerabilities, distributing malware and taking part in botnets.
- Bulk mailing without the consent of the recipients, using bought or harvested contact lists and sending spam of any kind.
- Hosting or distributing unlawful, copyright-infringing, deceptive or defamatory content.
- Phishing, forging data, identity theft and registering with false information.
- Long-running use of the allocated resources (CPU, RAM, I/O) at a level that threatens the normal operation of other customers.
- Mining cryptocurrency.
- Actions that may damage the reputation or the infrastructure of the Company.
- Use of the services by persons and organisations on sanctions lists (OFAC, the EU, the United Kingdom and others).
3. Use of resources
- Virtual servers use shared computing power distributed between customers. Short peaks of load are allowed, but a constant load of 100% on all vCPUs is not.
- For every plan, 25% of the power of one physical core is guaranteed for each vCPU.
- For the DE-PROMO promotional plan the guarantee is 10% of the power of one physical core for each vCPU.
- Exceeding the limits: if the load of a customer systematically exceeds the set levels, the Company may limit the resources, offer a move to a higher plan or take other measures to restore stable operation.
- No response: if a customer ignores requests from the Company to reduce the load, the Company may unilaterally move the service to a higher plan and/or block the server until the breaches are removed.
- The use of disk and network resources must stay within reasonable limits. For applications with a high load, caching and optimisation are recommended.
4. Network traffic
- The amount of traffic included is stated in the plan: 1 TB a month on the promotional plan and 32 TB a month on the others. Excessive use that has a negative effect on the network and on other customers is prohibited.
- If the permitted levels are exceeded, the bandwidth may be limited to 10–100 Mbit/s depending on the plan until the end of the billing period.
- The Company reserves the right to monitor network activity to ensure that this Policy is followed.
5. E-mail and anti-spam
- To protect against abuse, the outgoing SMTP ports (25, 465, 587) are closed by default.
- On the promotional plan, ports 25, 465 and 587 cannot be opened.
- On the standard plans they can be opened on request after an additional check.
- The Customer must keep correct SPF, DKIM and DMARC records and comply with the law on mailings (the consent of the recipients and the ability to unsubscribe).
6. Contact details
- The Customer must give accurate and current contact details at registration and use them for communication.
- Using temporary or disposable e-mail addresses is prohibited.
- Contact information must be updated within 7 (seven) days of the change.
7. Security and incident response
- If the services are compromised or take part in breaches, the Company may suspend or limit their operation, notifying the customer where possible.
- The Customer must remove vulnerabilities in good time and reinstall software and change credentials at the request of the Company.
- The Customer must cooperate with incident investigations and provide the necessary data within the limits set by law.
8. Enforcement and sanctions
Depending on the nature of the breach, the Company may issue a warning, temporarily limit the resources, suspend the services or terminate the service agreement.
- In urgent cases (a threat to the network, to security or to third parties) the measures may be applied immediately, without prior notice.
- Repeated or gross breaches lead to the final termination of the service.
9. Abuse reports
- Complaints about breaches are sent to abuse@f3cloud.com with the time of the incident, the logs and the IP addresses or domains affected.
- The Company reviews every report and works with customers to remove the breaches.
- Deliberately false complaints are treated as abuse and may lead to the suspension of the account.
10. Changes to the policy
- The Company reserves the right to change this Policy because of changes in the law, in technology or in the terms on which the services are provided.
- The updated version is published on the official website. Continuing to use the services after the changes take effect means that the Customer agrees to the new version.
Notes
A promotional plan is a plan with special conditions for providing resources and a lower guaranteed share of CPU, offered on limited terms to attract customers. At the moment this is the DE-PROMO plan.
